United hosted Brighton at Old Trafford and the Red Devils produced a strong showing on Saturday evening, despite coming close to blowing their advantage.

Matheus Cunha impressed United fans with his performance and the former Wolves ace broke the deadlock against Brighton in the Premier League clash at Old Trafford.
Casemiro put the Red Devils 2-0 up against the Seagulls ahead of half-time before Bryan Mbeumo extended United’s lead to 3-0 in the second half of the contest.
Danny Welbeck and Charalampos Kostoulas both netted to reduce United’s lead over Brighton, but Bryan Mbeumo would complete his brace deep in stoppage time.

Bryan Mbeumo saw out the full match for Manchester United and the Red Devils summer signing’s second of the contest sealed all three points for his side.
Matheus Cunha, unlike fellow summer signing Mbeumo, made way in the second half after Ruben Amorim brought on Manuel Ugarte in the 81st minute on Saturday.
Jamie Redknapp admitted that United were “calm and controlled” with their strong performance against Brighton until the dying stages of the Premier League match.
Speaking on Sky Sports, he said: “It would have been a travesty if they had not won that game! Huge win for the club. Three brilliant wins.
“I thought they were calm and controlled until that last bit of the game.”
The Sky Sports pundit added that both Cunha and Mbeumo are clear-cut signs that United are heading in the right direction with the types of signings being made.
“Man Utd have had a lot of stick for their recruitment, but right now they are getting it spot on,” Redknapp explained.
“Mbeumo and Cunha are loving it and they look like real Man Utd players.”

United manager Ruben Amorim endured a nail-biting experience after Brighton were trailing 3-2 in injury time before Mbeumo’s impact for the second time in the tie.
Speaking on Brighton’s second-half performance, he told Sky Sports: “It is something that happens in football.
“They have a lot of talent and quality on the ball.”
Amorim added: “They used that momentum to control the game, but we are improving how we respond to bad moments.
“Today, we did it again.”
United will now visit City Ground on 1st November and the Red Devils will face Nottingham Forest in their next Premier League outing.
