West Ham United face competition from Spain for Joshua Zirkzee

Joshua Zirkzee played just eight minutes of Manchester United's 4-2 win over Brighton in the Premier League yesterday.

This was just his fourth league appearance of the season, and he is yet to play a full 90 minutes.

The striker has dropped down the pecking order at United since the arrivals of Benjamin Sesko and Matheus Cunha.

He may have to leave the club to ensure regular game time, just as Rasmus Hojlund did when joining Napoli on loan last summer.

The Mirror has reported that "Sevilla have joined the race to hand Joshua Zirkzee an escape from his Manchester United hell - with new West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo considering a loan move to bolster his ailing attack."

Due to injury to Niclas Fullkrug, West Ham did not start with a recognised center-forward against Leeds United on Friday night.

This plan backfired with the Hammers two goals down after 15 minutes. Calum Wilson did come on in the first half after Ollie Scarles got injured. The match finished 2-1 with Mateus Fernandes getting the late goal for the Hammers.

Wilson is now 33 and has scored just once in six Premier League games this season. Nuno's side is desperate for a young striker in their bid to survive relegation.

Zirkzee, who is just 24, would suit Nuno's style of play and would get regular game time at West Ham. However, the prospect of fighting a relegation battle may not appeal to him.

Sevilla are currently 10th in La Liga, and struggling United players have found form in Spain recently.

Antony is now a key player for Real Betis, whilst Marcus Rashford looks back to his best at Barcelona.
