Keith Andrews addresses the ‘abundance’ of character shown by Brentford

Keith Andrews expressed his pride in his players after **Brentford**beat **Liverpool**3-2.

The Bees have already taken scalps against **Chelsea**in a 2-2 draw and **Man United**with a 3-1 victory at the Gtech Community Stadium,, but their home ground got an even greater spectacle against the reigning champions, who have crashed to their fourth straight defeat in the Premier League.

There was no mercy from the Bees, who stung where it hurt the most through direct, physical plays at set-pieces, aerially, and in transition. They looked like they could score at any moment, and are evolving nicely under their new head coach after the exits in and out of the dugout this summer.

Topflight survival looks the likelihood for the team, who are enjoying the fruits of labour and keep moving forward with the knowledge that they can create problems for any opponent at their fortress.

"Once we got a grip of the game after 10-15 mins we were excellent."

"The character was in an abundance. We had to show it. We knew it would be a difficult game. We're really pleased with how we showed our personality and character and the resilience in the group.

“It's twice in a row we've had a disappointment just before half-time but how we started in second half was excellent.

"I felt we could have dealt with the first goal a little bit better with how they got to that part of the pitch. We've worked a lot on how we defend that part of the pitch but I have to say how we defended - even the attacking players - everyone put their bodies on the line and we got what we deserved.

“Our home record has been really good. The way we approach games is growing in confidence. We're heading in the right direction. To beat the Premier League champions it's a pretty special evening."
