100% tackles, 9 duels won, 7 recoveries:£39m star was Man Utd's best player vs Brighton after Mbeumo

Manchester United picked up a third-straight Premier League win during Saturday’s encounter against Brighton & Hove Albion at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils went into the game after a fabulous 2-1 win over Liverpool at Anfield.

They had momentum on their side and delivered a fabulous first-half display. Matheus Cunha opened the scoring with his maiden Red Devils goal in the 24th minute.

Casemiro scored with the help of a huge deflection to secure a 2-0 lead at the break.

Bryan Mbeumo made it 3-0 for the Red Devils. Brighton fought back late to reduce the deficit (3-2), but Mbeumo put the game to bed with his second goal in stoppage time.

Mbeumo was the man of the match after his fantastic brace in the 4-2 win, but we were also impressed by Bruno Fernandes’ top-class showing in the heart of the midfield.

Fernandes has been inconsistent since dropping into a central midfield position at United, but he had one of his best performances against the Seagulls, in our opinion.

The Portuguese won an impressive nine duels and made seven ball recoveries. He also won 100 percent of his tackles (3/3) and drew three fouls from the opposition.

The £39 million-rated star had a fine showing against the Seagulls. He almost put the gloss on his 300th United appearance with a goal, but was denied by goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen.

United have now won three league games in a row. The victory over the Seagulls has sent them to fourth in the standings ahead of arch-rivals Liverpool, who lost again at Brentford.

The Red Devils are assured of staying fourth until next weekend if Tottenham Hotspur and Crystal Palace fail to beat Everton and Arsenal on the road respectively later today.
