Leeds United should be hoping Mateo Joseph’s goal drought ending kickstarts a good campaign in La Liga on loan at Mallorca.
Away from Leeds, there’s optimism that Largie Ramazani and Mateo Joseph can use their loans in La Liga to raise their profile.
Their loans in particular are different to the others (Isaac Schmidt, Max Wöber, Joe Gelhardt), in that United intend to see these players back next summer.

Mateo Joseph receives major shot in the arm from Mallorca manager Jagoba Arrasate
A chief criticism of Joseph last season, and ultimately what saw his starting spot stripped from him, was his composure when taking chances. The Spaniard looked especially raw in the penalty area when compared with Joel Piroe’s expertise in that area.
He notched two assists in his first seven games on loan at Mallorca. But last week, Joseph finally got off the mark with a stunning brace away to Sevilla.
Following the match, Mallorca boss Jagoba Arrasate was delighted with Joseph getting his first goals. Not only that, but he was very pleased with the extra work he’s put in to get to this position.
“He’s working hard to improve,” Arrasate said of Joseph. “He always stays at the end of training to improve his finishing, which makes me very happy. The victory comes at a crucial time, and we’re also happy with how it turned out.”
Now, per Estadio Deportivo, Mallorca may tweaking their setup to keep top scorer Vedat Muriqi starting and include Joseph too.
They face Levante this afternoon. Both sides are on eight points, with two wins and two draws from nine games apiece.
Mateo Joseph update could be worth millions in 2026 when he returns to Leeds United
One well-taken brace isn’t enough for Joseph to be considered firmly on his way to a very good season. His brace at Chelsea amounted to very little straight after.

That being said, his early form after pre-season at Leeds in 2024 strongly outlined how confidence plays a huge part in his consistency.
Two goals could provide a real springboard for him going on a run and pushing towards double figures in a Mallorca shirt.
Should that be the case, it leaves Leeds in a very profitable position when he returns from his loan in the summer of 2026.
Whether or not he has a long-term future here is another debate. However, him raising his value by millions can only be a good thing. Not only as a player for Leeds, but as an asset, he’ll hopefully be worth a lot more soon.
