Manchester United recorded their third straight victory in the Premier League after a thrilling 4-2 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion.

The Reds opened the scoring on 24 minutes as Casemiro picked out Matheus Cunha who curled the ball beyond Bart Verbruggen. United would make it 2-0 ten minutes later as Brighton struggled to play out from the back with Casemiro taking the plaudits as his strike deflected into the back of the net.

United looked out of sight when Bryan Mbeumo bagged his first of the game. However, a Danny Welbeck free kick and a stoppage time Charalampos Kostoulas header set up a nervy finish.

Mbeumo would have the final say as his strike won the game.

Here are some of the moments you might have missed at Old Trafford:

Amorim response to penalty denial

With United pushing for an opener, they were denied a penalty when Amad was brought to ground by Maxim De Cuyper. The roar at Old Trafford spoke volumes but Anthony Taylor said no.

Ruben Amorim was in the ear of the fourth official and he could not believe that the penalty wasn't given. When Amad finally won a free kick in his own half, it was celebrated nearly as much as the goal.

It was not the last time Amorim questioned the fourth official. It is clear that Taylor will not be on Amorim's Christmas card list.

Garnacho chants

Alejandro Garnacho chants were heard during the first half as the ill-will towards the winger continued. He may have scored for Chelsea earlier in the day but there is no sense that the decision to allow him to leave is being regretted by the home crowd.

Baleba audition fails

Carlos Baleba posted, before quickly deleting, that he was 'coming to Old Trafford' on Saturday morning. On this showing, it will only be as an opposition player.

He struggled with the atmosphere at Old Trafford and Mbeumo ran rings around him at times. He looked drained as the teams headed off the pitch at the break.

When he was eventually replaced on 60 minutes, all he could do was shake his head. This was not his night.

Amorim's Cunha message

Cunha bagged his first goal for United on Saturday. In the second half he was not quite as influential, with Taylor's decisions clearly frustrating him.

Amorim had a quick word with Cunha as he trotted up the touchline and whatever he said worked a treat as the Brazilian put his Taylor frustrations to one side and played a key role in helping his team see out the win.

De Ligt excellent again

Matthijs de Ligt impressed with his leadership ability on Saturday. In the second half, with the score at 3-0, he was the one demanding more from Leny Yoro and Ayden Heaven.

United need more leaders in the dressing room and after a tough first season at the club, De Ligt is clearly finding his feet and his voice.
