Bruno was on hand to fire home a rebound after Will Osula's 90th minute shot was saved as United made it two home wins in four days.
Despite beating Benfica in midweek, [Newcastle](https://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/sport/football/newcastleunited/?ref=ed_direct) had lost two of their last three in the Premier League and were facing more frustration until Bruno's last gasp heroics.
“Bruno, I've spoken about him many times, but the player and the person together is a very special thing," said Howe.
"His will to win, his drive, his determination to be successful is there for us every day.
“His professionalism to prepare himself to play is of the highest level and I always think you get your rewards if you do that and 90th minute, he's still going.
“How he's ended up in the box at that moment, I'd love to see back because there must have been a moment where he's had to put the burners on and foresee what's going to happen.
“But that's down to his motivation, so he's a very special player and as I say, a special person and we're lucky to have him."

Newcastle suffered late heartbreak against Arsenal and Brighton and Howe believes Bruno's late strike can be a "mood-changing goal" for the Magpies.
"Yeah, I think it is," he said.
"We've seen many times when you score late goals it's not just the game you've won that's affected, it's hopefully for us, the mood, the attitude when you're in that position again there's more belief you find the winner. It has a big knock-on effect.
"Just like we had to battle the other way when we've conceded late so you have to battle that becoming a habit. To break that is really important."
Howe is also delighted to see a mix of players chipping in with goals this week. He admitted after the Brighton defeat that he was concerned by how much Newcastle were relying on Nick Woltemade to find the net, but since then Anthony Gordon, Harvey Barnes, Jacob Murphy and Bruno have all scored.
Howe said: "I'm delighted with Murph's finish – that's a really tight angle to score from. He had a couple of other moments that he could have also scored from.
“I think the chance creation was important today and it's good to see Anthony Elanga has a chance late on, Bruno, as you say, had the header.
“We're hopefully on the right road in terms of our general performance. As I said, I don't think today was our absolute best, but I thought it was a decent performance and an amazing win."
