Everton midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has been discussing whether he’d be willing to accept a call-up from the Republic of Ireland.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who was born in Nottingham, is eligible to play for the Republic of Ireland through his family heritage.
It’s been reported that Ireland manager Heimir Hallgrimsson is weighing up an approach to Dewsbury-Hall ahead of the November international break.
As the rumours begin to intensify, the 27-year-old now told Everton TV whether he considers himself English or Irish.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall rules out Republic of Ireland call-up
Dewsbury-Hall has never represented England at any level but has now come out and made it clear he’s desperate to play for the Three Lions.
The Everton star recently told Ireland captain Seamus Coleman that he sees himself as English, ruling out an Ireland call-up.
“I have spoken about it with Seamus (Coleman). I told him where my head is at and that is that I see myself as English and the biggest dream of mine would be to play for England.
“It would be unfair of me to keep saying, ‘I want to play for the Republic of Ireland’, when that’s probably not what I want to do, as much as I respect Irish people, their fans and the way they are. It just wouldn’t feel right for me.

“I want to give myself a chance of playing for England, which is a lifelong dream. I feel like now there’s a great opportunity for me, in terms of playing at a massive club that’s on the up, I’m trying to play regular football here. Then it’s just down to me.
“I still believe that I can do it if I play well enough. That’s where my head is at and Seamus knows that. He’s the kind of guy who will say, ‘Yes, I believe in you and I trust that whatever you want to do you’re going to go all in to achieve it’. He was great in terms of that.”
Kieran Dewsbury-Hall has serious competition to get into England squad
Ben Foster has been blown away by Dewsbury-Hall this season, with the former Chelsea playmaker among some of the best chance creators in the Premier League, statistically.
That said, you would imagine he is on Thomas Tuchel’s radar with the next international break rapidly approaching.
However, competition is rife in his position, with Jude Bellingham, Declan Rice, Morgan Rodgers and Morgan Gibbs-White all ahead of him at the moment.
Perhaps Dewsbury-Hall could make the case to get in over Gibbs-White, who hasn’t been on top form this term.
