Don’t be fooled by the Panthers’ performance in Week 7, when they allowed just 139 passing yards in a 13-6 win over the Jets. Carolina’s pass defense is vulnerable. It allowed six touchdown passes in wins over the Miami Dolphins and Dallas Cowboys. Better quarterbacks have picked apart Carolina’s secondary, with Drake Maye, Tua Tagovailoa and Dak Prescott not throwing an interception.
This should be a bounce-back game for Josh Allen and the Bills’ passing attack. There will be time to throw – Carolina doesn’t blitz often and its 11 sacks are tied for fifth fewest – plus this is a defense that has allowed four touchdowns and 11.88 yards per reception to tight ends.
In seven career games following previous two-game skids, Allen has thrown 15 touchdowns and two interceptions while the offense has averaged 25.1 points per game. The Bills were 7-0 in those matchups.
