Is Dalton Kincaid playing today? Latest injury update, fantasy advice for Week 8

The Buffalo Bills are in danger of not having their star tight end for a second straight game in Week 8, as Dalton Kincaid is once again questionable.

Kincaid has been bothered by an oblique injury for a few weeks now and the issue kept him out of the Week 6 game against the Atlanta Falcons before Buffalo's bye in Week 7.

The starting tight end logged all limited practices this week before drawing a questionable tag, which leaves his status up in the air.

Here's what we know about Kincaid's chances of playing in Week 8 against the Carolina Panthers.

Is Dalton Kincaid playing today?

There are no reports about Kincaid's status for Week 8, so we have to make an educated guess until more information surfaces.

Considering the fact that Kincaid was a game-time decision in Week 6, that would suggest he was close then and is close now.

That said, Kincaid not being able to log a single full practice during the week and drawing a questionable tag coming out of the bye is concerning for his chances of suiting up.

Right now, we'd say Kincaid is 50/50 and there is a very real chance he doesn't end up playing, so keep an eye out for the Bills' list of inactives, which will drop an hour and a half before the 1 p.m. ET kickoff on Sunday afternoon.

Dalton Kincaid fantasy advice

Kincaid has been one of the best tight ends in fantasy football, ranking as TE5 in fantasy points per game through seven weeks. He is an every-week TE1 until further notice.

Making Kincaid more attractive is the fact that the Panthers are ceding the fifth-most fantasy points per game to tight ends.

The only way you'd even consider sitting Kincaid is if he is going to be limited, but even a limited Kincaid might be your best option given the shallow pool of viable tight ends.

If Kincaid doesn't play, Dawson Knox would step into the starting role, but Knox hasn't been productive this season, even when Kincaid was absent in Week 6. We wouldn't suggest Knox outside of the most desperate situations.

Verdict: Start Kincaid
