The Philadelphia Eagles were thrown a curveball this week after wide receiver A.J. Brown popped up on the injury report.
Brown was added to the list this week with a hamstring issue and did not practice at all before he was ruled out on Friday, which leaves a big void in Philly's offense for Week 8 against the New York Giants.
The Eagles will enjoy a bye in Week 9, which gives Brown another week to get right without having to potentially miss another game.
But will Brown be ready to go coming out of the bye? Here's what we know.
How long is A.J. Brown out?
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Brown is "expected to have a realistic chance" to play in Week 10 against the Green Bay Packers.
"Although A.J. Brown already has been ruled out for Sunday’s game vs. the Giants, the Eagles have a bye next week and their Pro Bowl wide receiver is expected to have a realistic chance to return the following week for a Monday night game vs. the Packers, per sources," Schefter reported on Saturday night.
There has been nothing to suggest Brown is going to be out long term, and a report earlier in the week even suggested he was "tracking toward playing" on Sunday, so it's fair to assume he'll be ready to go in Week 10 after getting another week to rest up.
Eagles fantasy advice for Week 8
With Brown sidelined on Sunday, fellow wide receiver DeVonta Smith and tight end Dallas Goedert should both get a bump in usage. Jahan Dotson and John Metchie could also see more opportunities.
However, only Smith and Goedert are viable starting options.
If you're in a desperate spot and are facing a situation in which you have to choose between Metchie and Dotson, start the latter.
