Week 8 in the NFL has arrived, and the 2025 season is zooming by. The trade deadline and playoff picture are starting to be talked about, and fantasy owners are either feeling really good or really bad right now.
The Cowboys fantasy football rankings are also back for another week, as the team continues to produce like few others in all league formats.
Just last week, we saw a staggering six Dallas players finish with 12 or more points in PPR formats. Half of those ended up with a 20-point or more performance; in short, these guys are balling out.
Both the team and fantasy owners face a bit of an issue this week, however.
America’s Team is headed to Mile High to take on the Denver Broncos, who notably have one of the strongest overall defenses in the entire league. Here, we’ll factor that in and rank the Cowboys fantasy football options as you try to set your lineup.
1. Javonte Williams: Former Bronco Must Produce In Revenge Game
The premier matchup in this game may just be former Bronco Javonte Williams returning to his old home.
Dallas’s new running back has exceeded all expectations, both in fantasy scoring and in reality. He’s averaging 18.7 points in ESPN PPR leagues and scored 20 or more in nearly half of his games.

He usually doesn’t come in at the top spot for me, but this week, the revenge game potential and the Broncos’ defense force him up here.
Denver gives up the ninth-fewest points to fantasy RBs in the league; believe it or not, that’s their worst ranking across all offensive positions. That means Williams will have to take on a big role today.
2. Dak Prescott: Elite QB Faces Challenge, & Upside Against Denver
MVP candidate and the leader of the Cowboys’ offensive revival, Dak Prescott, is headed for a big challenge to that status this week.
The Broncos’ pass defense is elite; whether it’s in the secondary with Pat Surtain or up front with pass-rusher Nik Bonnito, this unit can be deadly to quarterbacks looking to distribute the ball all over the gridiron.
Prescott is facing a defense that gives up the fourth-fewest fantasy points to quarterbacks, so keeping his 21.0 points per game may be tough.
If he can overcome these obstacles, however, we’re going to see him emerge as one of the top-three MVP candidates and one of the elite fantasy QBs in the NFL.
3. CeeDee Lamb: WR1 Goes Up Against DST1 In Top-Notch Matchup
In his highly anticipated return last week, All-Pro wide receiver CeeDee Lamb reeled in five catches for 110 yards and a touchdown; not too shabby.
When Lamb has played and participated, he has surpassed the 100 receiving yard mark in every single game this season. In Chicago, he was injured before recording a catch.

While that streak may end against this dominant Denver secondary, he still comes in third as his naturally high volume is sure to get him some points.
Despite his difficult matchup against the defense that allows the fewest fantasy points to wide receivers, Lamb should still be an easy start in your lineup with the expectation of at least 50 receiving yards.
4. Jake Ferguson: Cowboys TE Aims To Keep Crazy Touchdown Streak Alive
After not recording a touchdown in what felt like forever, Jake Ferguson scored against Green Bay and hasn’t stopped since.
The production machine at tight end has also become a touchdown machine, bringing in six over the last four games: that is absolutely crazy for an offense that has so many elite weapons at hand.
Ferguson won’t be able to escape the challenge Denver’s defense poses, but he should get a slew of targets with the cornerbacks facing Dallas’s wide receivers.
Start “Ferg” today, and hope he reaps the benefits of Surtain and Riley Moss’s presence.
5: George Pickens: New Star Must Overcome Denver D & CeeDee In Week 8
Lastly, we have the new Cowboys star and Lamb’s receiving partner, George Pickens.
The former Steeler has dominated in Dallas, scoring six touchdowns in seven games. Some worried about whether that hot start would be dimmed by Lamb’s return, and the answer to that was a resounding no.
Pickens still surpassed 80 yards on just four receptions, though he was targeted six times. He didn’t get into the end zone, but he showed that Lamb-Pickens is a Batman-Batman situation; Robin isn’t part of the equation here.
Facing the Broncos’ monster secondary, and sharing targets with Lamb and Ferguson, may pose a threat to his Week 8 fantasy relevance, but he’s proven that narrative wrong before.
