When are Bucky Irving, Chris Godwin, Mike Evans coming back? Latest injury updates on Bucs stars

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are extremely short-handed on the offensive side of the ball thanks to injuries to wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin and running back Bucky Irving.

Evans suffered a broken collarbone in Week 7 that is expected to sideline him for a significant amount of time.

Meanwhile, Irving has missed four games in a row with foot and shoulder issues and Godwin has missed three games in a row with a fibula injury after both were ruled out for the Week 8 game against the New Orleans Saints.

Here's a look at what we know about each player's expected return timeline.

How long is Mike Evans out?

With Evans on injured reserve, he has to miss at least four games, but the expectation is he will be out longer than that.

NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reports that Evans is expected to miss six to eight weeks with his broken collarbone.

That puts his return timeline anywhere from Week 13 to Week 16. We would anticipate him returning on the later end of that timetable.

When is Bucky Irving coming back?

Irving was ruled out early in the week, so that means he wasn't close to playing, which is obviously concerning considering he had already missed three games.

The Bucs will enjoy a bye in Week 9, so that gives Irving an extra week to get right without the fear of missing another game.

Irving was still in a sling this past week, so that is not a positive update and lends to the idea he might not be ready to return in Week 10 when the Bucs get back from their bye.

That said, with Irving still not placed on injured reserve, it shows Tampa Bay thinks he's closer to returning than not and a Week 10 return would appear to be in play, although we'd guess Week 11 or 12 are more likely.

When is Chris Godwin coming back?

Like Irving, Godwin was ruled out early in the week, so he wasn't close to playing, either, and that makes him a major question mark coming out of the bye in Week 10.

Updates on Godwin have been scarce, but the Bucs didn't place him on injured reserve, which signals they think he could be back after missing three games.

If that's the case, we'll see him in Week 10. If not, Week 11 would be the next possible return date for the veteran wideout.
