Journeyman quarterback Zach Wilson will remain Tua Tagovailoa’s back-up, according to the Miami Dolphins.
The team posted its inactives prior to Sunday’s game against the Atlanta Falcons and listed rookie signal caller Quinn Ewers as the emergency third quarterback.
This comes roughly a week after Dolphins coach Mike McDaniel said the team would hold an open competition for backup quarterback in the week ahead of Sunday’s game. Wilson, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, ended up coming out on top. This is a change from Week 7 when Ewers was named Tagovailoa’s backup.
Other inactives included defensive back Elijah Campbell, cornerback JuJu Brents, safety Jordan Colbert, wide receiver Tahj Washington, tight end Julian Hill and defensive tackle Zeek Biggers.
