Pep Guardiola says he’s not interested in the Premier League table at the moment and believes City are ready to challenge for the title.
A narrow 1-0 defeat at Aston Villa saw us fall six points behind Arsenal at the top.
Bournemouth, in second, are our next opponents in the Premier League, following our Carabao Cup clash at Swansea on Wednesday night.
The Villa defeat was our first loss in 10 games in all competitions and Guardiola says the focus is only on our results and performances.
OFFICIAL VERDICT | VILLA 1-0 CITY
“My concern is how we can be better and improve,” he said. “The season is so long. For the Bournemouth games and other ones, we will try to do our game.
“I was worried before the international break when [Arsenal] were six, seven points in front.
“Our job is not to watch the table - if they win all their games they will win the Premier League and congratulations but I have the feeling our team is alive.
“The courage to play is better. I don’t live in October thinking what is going to happen if we don’t win the Premier League games.
“It’s game-by-game, now we prepare for Swansea. After the international break, there are no more until March and we will see where we are.”
