The Buffalo Bills have been dealing with injuries on defense entering Sunday. Guys like Matt Milano, Landon Jackson and Taylor Rapp weren’t able to play against the Carolina Panthers.
Things got even worse late in the first half, as star defensive tackle Ed Oliver left the game with a biceps injury, and was ruled out for the remainder of the game.
With Oliver out, the Bills will use other defensive lineman guys like Deone Walker, Larry Ogunjobi and Jordan Phillips to fill in and try and pick up the slack.
Oliver has been dealing with injuries for much of the season, as Sunday was only the third game that he has played this year. It was an ankle injury that he had to deal with earlier in the year.
The Bills entered the game against the Panthers on a two-game losing streak, but are currently up 19-3 at the half.
For Oliver, now the focus is once again on when he will be able to come back. The Bills game next week is a monster one, as Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs come to Buffalo for a game that figures to play a major role in the battle for homefield in the AFC.
The Chiefs offense the last month has been as good as any in the NFL, as they are averaging 32.5 points and have won three of their last four games since the 0-2 start.
