Jude Bellingham takes aim at Lamine Yamal in social media post after Real Madrid 2-1 Barcelona

Jude Bellingham has taken aim at Lamine Yamal in a social media post following Real Madrid's 2-1 victory against Barcelona. The Englishman was at the heart of Los Blancos' triumph, scoring and assisting as his team extended their lead at the top of La Liga.

Tension ahead of Sunday's El Clasico had sky rocketed after Barcelona's wonderkid made comments that their rivals "rob and complain." And that gave way to a thrilling encounter, as goals from Bellingham and Kylian Mbappe ensured that the hosts picked up an important three points.

There were several flashpoints in the game, though, with both substitute benches clashing after Pedri was shown a second yellow card for a tackle on Aurelien Tchouameni. And after the game, Dani Carvajal confronted Yamal, leading to another scuffle between both sets of players.

Bellingham Mocks Yamal in New Post

It proved to be a day to forget for Yamal, whose comments seemingly backfired and motivated the Madrid squad to put in an dominant performance. And Bellingham then elected to rub salt into the wounds following the game's dramatic conclusion.

Taking to Instagram, the 22-year-old uploaded an image of him celebrating his goal, but his caption seemingly mocked Yamal's comments prior to the match. He wrote: "Talk is cheap. HALA MADRID SIEMPRE." He also chose to include Elvis Presley's song, 'A Little Less Conversation' as the attached music for the post.

Tension between the pair is not anything new, with Yamal making a dig at the Real Madrid star following El Clasico in May this year, which Barcelona won 4-3. The 18-year-old took aim at the England international after he liked a post from Alessandro Bastoni on Instagram following Inter Milan's victory against the Blaugrana in the Champions League.

Yamal was always likely to be a big talking point on Sunday following his comments prior to the game, but Madrid manager Alonso had stated that his side were purely focusing on their preparations for the game, rather than anything away from it. And he echoed those sentiments after the match, saying that the clash between both sets of players was a natural part of competition.

"The fight at the end of the match? I think it reflected the intensity and the importance of the game. It's healthy competition. That's all.

While Alonso might not have read much into Yamal's comments, they certainly helped make Madrid's victory on Sunday that much sweeter. They now turn their focus to their match against Valencia on Saturday 1st November, while Barcelona will aim to bounce back against Elche on Sunday 2nd.
