The New York Giants suffered a big blow to their run game in the second quarter of their Week 8 game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Quarterback Jaxson Dart tried to connect with Cam Skattebo on second-and-16, but the rookie running suffered a gruesome ankle injury on the play when he was tackled by Eagles linebacker Zack Baun as he reached for the ball.
Skattebo’s ankle looked to be going in the wrong direction after the play.
The Giants quickly came onto the field and took a knee as a Skattebo was tended to by medical staff before he was carted to the locker room. Skattebo waved to the Lincoln Financial crowd, who gave him a standing ovation as he left the field.
Skattebo was taken to a local hospital for a dislocated ankle and further evaluation, the Giants announced.
Skattebo had three catches for 12 yards prior to the injury.
The 2025 fourth-round pick has formed a dynamic duo with Dart since the quarterback took over for Russell Wilson
