Barcelona will have to cope without Pedri next time out against Elche in La Liga after the midfielder was sent off late on in El Clasico.
The midfielder was booked for pulling Vinicius Jr back and then saw yellow for a second time for a foul on Aurélien Tchouaméni.
It’s the first red card of Pedri’s career and will bring a one-match ban for the Spain international, ruling him out of Barcelona’s next game.
Pedri’s absence will be a blow, as he’s arguably been Barca’s best player this season, but it does ensure he will finally get a rest after being a virtual ever present.
Yet the ban also comes at a time when Barca remain short on numbers, with Robert Lewandowski, Gavi, Joan Garcia, Dani Olmo and Raphinha all currently sidelined through injury.
Hansi Flick’s side will be hoping to get back on track against Elche after slipping five points behind Madrid with their defeat in El Clasico.
