The Green Bay Packers drafted Matthew Golden in the first round of the 2025 NFL draft in the hopes he could become the team's long-term No. 1 target.
Golden has shown some flashes early on in his career, but he has had an up-and-down season overall, which is what you'd expect from a rookie wide receiver.
So far in Week 8 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, we're seeing the down side of the rookie, as he's off to a slow start.
Here's a closer look at what's going on.
Is Matthew Golden playing tonight?
Despite popping up on the injury report late in the week, Golden is active for Green Bay, he just hasn't been targeted yet.
The Packers had an ugly opening drive, but then rebounded on the second series. But Jordan Love didn't get Golden involved and has instead connected with Romeo Doubs, Tucker Kraft, Malik Heath and Christian Watson.
We'll see if Golden can get going on the next series.
