The Dallas Cowboys can’t seem to get ahead of the game after losing to the Denver Broncos on Sunday, and dropping to 3-4-1 this season.
It is no secret that the Cowboys’ biggest issues reside on the defensive side of the ball, which even the most devout of the Dallas faithful are willing to call out loudly, publicly and with weekly regularity.
“This CAN NOT be an [NFL] defense that's wearing the [Dallas Cowboys] helmets!!!!!!” Cowboys Hall of Fame wide receiver Michael Irvin posted to X.

Dallas allowed Denver to score 44 points in a 20-point road loss, and while Prescott produced by far his worst game of the season (19 of 31 passing for 188 yards and two interceptions), the quarterback was playing at an MVP level through the first seven weeks of the season.
The Cowboys offense has been more than formidable, even across several games without superstar wide receiver CeeDee Lamb. So with the NFL trade deadline just nine days away (Nov. 4), media members were curious as to Prescott’s thoughts on the team’s need to make a deal to improve the roster while it still has the chance.
"I trust and like the guys that we have. I honestly do, and that's not just a political answer,” Prescott said during the postgame press conference, per Jon Machota of The Athletic. “Our roster is OK. Can it be better? That's for you guys to write about and to judge. I trust those guys.”
The Cowboys have been relatively open about their desire to add an edge-rusher to replace Micah Parsons, whom the team traded to the Green Bay Packers for defensive tackle Kenny Clark and two first-round picks just before the regular season. Dallas has inquired with the Las Vegas Raiders about Maxx Crosby and the Cincinnati Bengals about Trey Hendrickson, but was rebuffed by those teams on both occasions.
