Pittsburgh Steelers rule out four players for Packers game, including speedy playmaker

The Pittsburgh Steelers will be without four players against the Green Bay Packers, but only one of them is out due to injury.

Wide receiver Scotty Miller will not play after suffering a finger injury during practice. Miller, who played just 8 snaps against the Bengals, is a key veteran depth piece for the team. It is unknown just how severe the finger injury he suffered in practice on Thursday is and how long he will miss.

Now, that likely means a bigger role for players like Ke’Shawn Williams, who was elevated from the practice squad to the 53-man roster for return duties after Calvin Austin III suffered a shoulder injury against the Minnesota Vikings.

Miller was with the Steelers for all of last season and was a carryover from Arthur Smith’s group in Atlanta. He worked primarily on special teams and as a reserve gunner. Miller had just five receptions for 69 yards and was released before their playoff game against the Baltimore Ravens. He was later re-signed to the practice squad.

Edge rusher DeMarvin Leal, guard Andrus Peat, and defensive lineman Logan Lee are all healthy scratches. Pittsburgh has an extra roster spot open and did not activate quarterback Will Howard or linebacker Malik Harrison from injured reserve after they practiced this week.
