Real Madrid superstar played El Clasico through fever – report

The dust from Sunday’s fiery El Clasico is still settling, and Vinicius Jr. finds himself once again at the centre of controversy.

The Brazilian forward, who was involved in several heated exchanges during the match, drew attention with an angry reaction after being substituted by Xabi Alonso late in the second half.

Real Madrid may have emerged victorious in the high-stakes clash, but Vinicius’ behaviour during and after the match has continued to make headlines.

When Alonso called him off to bring on Rodrygo, the 25-year-old reacted furiously on the touchline.

What did Vinicius say?

According to AS, Vinicius repeatedly asked, “Me? Me?” in disbelief as Rodrygo prepared to enter. Once he realised he was indeed the player being replaced, his frustration boiled over.

“Vai tomar no cu!” the forward shouted, a Portuguese expression roughly translating to “go to hell” or “screw you.”

The phrase, widely used in Brazil, can be interpreted as a burst of anger rather than outright disrespect, yet it clearly showed the player’s growing irritation.

Visibly furious, Vinicius stormed towards the tunnel, continuing to swear under his breath while Alonso tried to calm him down, reportedly saying, “Come on, Vini, damn it!” But the tension didn’t stop there.

As he walked away, the Brazilian muttered, “Always me. I’m leaving the team. I’m leaving, I’d better go,” reflecting deep frustration with being withdrawn.

Moments later, he returned to the bench, where goalkeeper Andriy Lunin approached him to offer comfort and defuse the situation.

It did not end there

The night took another turn after the final whistle. In the chaotic scenes that followed Pedri’s red card and the mass confrontation between both benches, Vinicius was once again in the thick of it.

He appeared to target Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal, reportedly in response to comments made by the teenager before the match.

Dani Carvajal and Thibaut Courtois were also involved in the altercation, which saw tempers flare to the point where members of Madrid’s coaching staff had to restrain Vinicius to prevent the situation from escalating further.
