Jalen Hurts sends stark warning to NFL before Eagles fly into bye week after win

It was a moment that all Philadelphia Eagles fans had been waiting for nearly two months: the offense finally found its 2024 identity.

The Eagles made sure to serve the New York Giants a cold dish of revenge after taking them down 38-20, but the real storyline was how good the offense performed for Philly. They finished with 427 total yards of offense and an impressive 276 rushing yards in the win.

Forgotten in the perfection that was the running game was quarterback Jalen Hurts, yet again putting together as good a performance as the perfect passer rating in the 28-22 win over the Minnesota Vikings the week before. Hurts' rating was down to 141.5 (still incredible) as he threw for 179 yards, running for another 22 yards, but threw a season-high four touchdowns. Oh, and he completed 75% of his passes just to add the cherry on top of a great game.

Hurts had something to say after the game that Eagles fans will love to hear

After the game, Hurts spoke with the media in his usual calm demeanor. This time, though, he certainly had something to get off his chest. While there is acknowledgement that it wasn't a perfect day, he made sure the NFL knew something about his team.

"Definitely got a lot of work to do. I think the best is yet to come."

A team that has been one of the worst offenses in the NFL is starting to get hot at the right time. Hurts has thrown seven touchdowns to zero turnovers in the last two games since the first Giants matchup. It certainly feels as though the franchise quarterback has caught fire at the right time.

It helps matters that with A.J. Brown out of the game, the running game picked up some steam. Saquon Barkley and Tank Bigsby ran for over 100 yards. They took the pressure off of Hurts.

That didn't stop Hurts from having his own impressive numbers. He's throwing touchdowns at a level that he has rarely seen, and he's doing the most important part: protecting the football.

A lot of credit has to go to Hurts, as he went from the guy who missed all the deep ball throws two weeks ago to not playing at an MVP level.
