Pupil met teacher beneath the glimmering Acrisure Stadium lights on "Sunday Night Football."
Pupil won.
The Green Bay Packers weathered an underwhelming first-half display to claim a 35-25 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night. Their hurler, Jordan Love, was at the heart of the resurgence, tossing flares all across the grass en route to one of his the best displays of his still-burgeoning career.
Love, 26, wasn't the centerpiece of Sunday's game. That honor went to Steelers passer Aaron Rodgers, who took on his former employers for the first time since his contentious departure.
Rodgers, being the man who preceded Love in Green Bay's pocket, offered plenty of support for the former first-rounder as he attempted to build himself into a top-tier twirler. All these years later, Rodgers' contributions look to have paid off. Love is a perennial Pro Bowl threat who's passing has grown all the more precise over the years.
With that, here's what you need to know about Love's epic outing — as well as how Rodgers felt about it.

Love struck up quite the partnership with star tight end Tucker Kraft, finding the third-year pass-catcher with an early touchdown.
The score set the stage for a sterling day atop the Acrisure Stadium plains for Love. He recorded his second-highest yardage total in his career while tacking on an additional two touchdowns — one of which fell into Kraft's grasp.
Fueled by Love and Kraft's heroics — and some timely interventions from Micah Parsons — Green Bay turned a nine-point first-half deficit into a double-digit win. Suffice to say, Love's former mentor was impressed.

"I thought J-Love played great," Rodgers said. "He was super efficient. He didn't get sacked. Moved around really well, made some plays outside the pocket. I thought he played outstanding."
Love explained that he was feeling the pressure — and motivation — ahead of his momentous matchup with Rodgers.
"You know, I knew coming into this week, this was going to be a very hyped up game," Love said. "My mindset was just trying to come out here and focus on getting that win. Trying to block all that extra stuff out and just be the player I need to be."
Love completed 20 consecutive passes at one point, showcasing the improved accuracy that has made him one of the league's most efficient passers thus far. His completion percentage through seven games sits at 69.3%, six points higher than his 2024 mark.

In a way, Love's performance was Rodgers-like — marked not only by the firework-laden highlights but also the simple throws that kept things ticking.
"Being behind A-Rod for three years and being able to see him and the high-level play that he was capable of going out there doing and being able to put the ball on the money at all times was very cool," Love said. "But for me, it comes down to being the best quarterback I can for the team, trusting those guys, putting it out for them to make plays."
All that amounted to an impressive day in the office for Love. He'll net quite the memento as a result of his performance — a signed jersey from Rodgers himself.

"It was very fun to go against him," Love said. "I told him I needed that jersey and we're going to exchange those at a later time."

That a stretch of completions took place of that magnitude was fairly unlikely, according to Next Gen Stats.

He made his mark in both clean and dirty air, evidenced by lofted tosses to Kraft and Christian Watson. Both were thrown as pressure seeped into the pocket; the throw to Kraft came while Love was cut down by a pair of Steelers pass rushers, while the latter saw Love evade traffic and roll out before letting the ball rip off-balance.
