Aaron Rodgers said some nice words ahead of the Pittsburgh Steelers game against his former team, the Green Bay Packers, but there was no doubt he wanted to beat them.
But it simply did not happen on Sunday, as Pittsburgh couldn’t keep in step with Jordan Love and the Packers. The Steelers ended up absorbing a 35-25 loss, with Green Bay breaking away in the fourth quarter, where the Packers outscored the host team at Acrisure Stadium, 21-6.
Earlier in the game, Rodgers didn’t hide his frustration on one play, particularly after Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf misplayed what would have been a touchdown for Pittsburgh.

Rodgers passed for 219 yards and two touchdowns with zero interceptions on 24-of-36 pass completions, but his effort was not enough to prevent Pittsburgh from losing its third game overall in the 2025 season — and second in a row.
Pittsburgh now drops to 4-3 overall in the 2025 season after back-to-back losses to the Cincinnati Bengals and the Packers.
Rodgers threw multi-touchdowns each in those games against Cincinnati and Green Bay, but Pittsburgh is still left reeling from those setbacks.
In Week 9, Rodgers and the Steelers will look to stop the team’s bleeding, as they go up against the Indianapolis Colts at home.
