Davide Bartesaghi’s rise at AC Milan has attracted the attention of some top clubs around Europe, according to a report.
Bartesaghi has been thrust into a starting role as the left wing-back in Massimiliano Allegri’s 3-5-2 system in recent weeks, because of a suspension for Pervis Estupinan that was then followed by an ankle injury.
Davide in demand
According to MilanLive, Arsenal are looking to continue their recent trend of signing players from Serie A, having acquired the defensive trio of Takehiro Tomiyasu, Jakub Kiwior and Riccardo Calafiori from the Italian top flight.
Journalist Vincenzo Matrone confirmed it: “Last year when he signed his contract extension, he was as happy as a child. I hope he remains a serious player. I know Arsenal are pursuing him and have some serious demands

“I hope he can become a full-back/wing-back for Milan for the next 20 years . In the unfortunate year of Milan Futuro, he was fortunate enough to play as a central defender, and this has led to his improving in marking.
“He has improved a lot in one-on-one situations; he plays a powerful game, and yesterday [against Pisa] they tried to get him to shoot.” Carlo Pellegatti has also spoken recently about the Gunners being keen on the Italy U21 international.
Barcelona are also among the other clubs pursuing Bartesaghi as per MilanLive’s report. In recent weeks, clubs have sent scouts to watch the teenager in action, and it might end up being a fight for Milan to keep their academy product.
