Joe Cole is already concerned by Estevao Willian at Chelsea for same reason as he was Cole Palmer

Chelsea legend Joe Cole has been impressed with Estevao Willian since his arrival at Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Estevao officially joined Chelsea from Palmeiras in August and has made an immediate impact in west London.

The winger has two goal contributions in eight Premier League games this season, which is very promising for an 18-year-old who had not played in Europe before signing for the Club World Cup winners.

However, if Estevao continues to be a success at Stamford Bridge, Cole fears that success could come at a price for Chelsea.

Joe Cole fears Real Madrid interest in Estevao Willian in the future

If Estevao can hit big figures during his time at Chelsea, like teammate Cole Palmer, Cole thinks the Brazilian will start attracting interest from Real Madrid and others.

“What his value is now is irrelevant, as he’s signed a long-term contract at Chelsea, but if he starts putting up numbers like Cole Palmer, then the likes of Real Madrid, PSG, and Bayern Munich will start looking at him in the same way I’m sure Palmer has attracted attention when he’s fit and flying,” the ex-attacker told TNT Sports.

Real Madrid already have a few Brazil internationals in their squad, including one whom the Blues tried to sign in the past.

The Chelsea Chronicle understands that Endrick was wanted at Stamford Bridge, but the Santiago Bernabeu proved to be his destination in the end.

Chelsea will feel that they signed the better player from Palmeiras, though, with both attackers having been on Brazilian club’s books.

While Endrick has not done much at Real Madrid since joining the La Liga outfit, Estevao is already winning games for Chelsea.

Chelsea should be worried about losing Estevao Willian one day

The good news for Chelsea fans is that Estevao has only just joined the club and has a contract until 2033.

That being said, it would not be a shock if the former Palmeiras star pushed for a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona later down the line.

For a lot of South American players, representing Real Madrid or their Spanish rivals is a dream. The Blues may find it difficult to convince Estevao to stay if one of the two come knocking.

And in this day and age, unhappy players are not kept. His contract situation was a lot different to Estevao’s, but Alexander Isak is a perfect example following his move from Newcastle United to Liverpool last month.
