The Green Bay Packers spoiled Aaron Rodgers’ search for a historic victory with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
While the quarterback had a pretty good game against his former team, Jordan Love was even better.
The Steelers didn’t have an answer for the Packers’ passing game, and a lot of that had to do with Christian Watson.
That’s why head coach Matt LaFleur had nothing but praise for the wide receiver, who played his first game returning from an ACL injury he suffered last season.
“He’s a difference maker for us. His speed, his size, his physicality. So glad to have him back out there,” LaFleur said.

He finished second on the Packers in receptions (four) and receiving yards (85), including a 33-yard gain.
Watson’s athleticism makes him the clear candidate to be Love’s primary target, even with Matthew Golden arriving as a first-round pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
The rookie managed three receptions on as many targets for four yards.
Romeo Doubs, who has been the WR1 in Watson’s absence, had another strong game with three receptions on six targets for 44 yards.
As for Tucker Kraft, the tight end continued his breakout season by pacing the team in targets (nine), receptions (seven), receiving yards (143) and receiving touchdowns (2).
The Packers’ offense made a big statement in a prime-time game against Rodgers, who was trying to defeat each of the NFL’s 32 teams with a victory.
With Watson back in the mix, the Packers might decide to part with one of their pass catchers before the upcoming NFL trade deadline to get help elsewhere.
