Rams expected to get Puka Nacua back for Week 9 matchup vs. Saints

The Los Angeles Rams were on their Week 8 bye after a massive blowout win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. They also beat the Baltimore Ravens 17-3, winning both games largely without Puka Nacua.

He suffered an ankle injury during the Ravens game in Week 6, and while the Rams were without their superstar receiver in Week 7, a new report indicates that the Rams won't be without Nacua for more than one game.

Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that the Rams are expected to get Nacua back for the team's Week 9 matchup against the New Orleans Saints.

"Rams WR Puka Nacua is expected to return from his injured ankle to play Sunday against the Saints," Schefter reports.

After the initial injury scare in Week 6, the Rams will have only missed one game without their star receiver. While they didn't need him to dominate the Jaguars, having Nacua ready to go for Week 9 is a huge boost to the offense.

So far this season, in just five and a half games played, Nacua has 54 receptions for 616 receiving yards and two touchdowns. He was on track to set NFL records if he didn't get hurt, but fortunately, he avoided a major injury.

Sitting at 5-2, tied atop the NFC West with the Seattle Seahawks, the Rams have a chance to take the division with a strong final few months of the season.

Coming out of the bye, they'll face the 1-7 Saints before playing the San Francisco 49ers and Seahawks in Weeks 10 and 11. Getting Nacua back for those two in-division matchups will be huge.

According to Schefter, the Rams' All-Pro receiver is expected to be back on the field alongside Devante Adams. Matthew Stafford will have his favorite target back on the field, as the Rams look to separate themselves in the NFC West for a division title.
