FC Kairat’s Dastan Satpayev is set to make a switch to Chelsea next summer.
Back in February, the Kazakh club confirmed they’ve reached an agreement with Chelsea for the 17-year-old’s transfer.
Last month, FC Kairat’s Luís Mata said Chelsea have secured a player with tremendous potential.
At the weekend, FC Kairat settled for a 1-1 draw against Astana, and this saw them clinch the Kazakh title this year. They finished two points ahead of runners-up Astana.
After the tie, FC Kairat chairman Kairat Boranbayev gave an interview to Vesti. He made a statement on the future of Satpayev, who has an agreement in place with Chelsea.
The forward graduated from the club’s academy and made his way into their first team in May 2024. He scored 14 goals and contributed seven assists from 26 league matches and it includes an equaliser against Astana on Sunday.
Boranbayev now confirms that he will be at the club when the 2026 Kazakhstan Premier League starts next year.
“Dastan is the best player of the season. He has performed exceptionally well for his age, and this has been noted not only by us but also by our opponents in the Champions League. He’s a bright Kazakhstani star who we hope will continue to develop,” he said.
“He will play for Kairat next season, as he cannot leave for England until he turns 18. He will be with us until [next] June-August.”
Satpayev won’t be eligible to arrive in the UK until he turns 18 years of age in August 2026.
