The Chicago Bears had their four-game winning streak snapped in Week 8 by the Baltimore Ravens.
It was a dismal outing by Ben Johnson’s team, and according to FOX Sports host Colin Cowherd, it was mostly Caleb Williams‘ fault.
“Caleb, in my opinion, is never going to be a consistently accurate thrower of the football in this league. Am I too harsh?” Cowherd said.

The second-year quarterback has to make better decisions, and he needs to understand that he doesn’t have to go for a big play on every dropback.
Even so, the talent is there, and he’s shown some signs of improvement with Johnson as his head coach.
It’s never wise to give up on a young player early in his career.
Williams’ rookie season was essentially a waste because of the Bears’ decision to keep head coach Matt Eberflus, and the No. 1 overall pick from the 2024 NFL Draft is now learning a new system while figuring out what it takes to be a successful quarterback in the league.
He needs to work on his ability to go through his progressions and not force throws, things that should come with more playing time.
Even if he’s never the type of quarterback who will complete 70 percent of his passes, he’s talented enough to be worth the gamble, at least for a while longer.
