Manchester City join race for Bayern Munich target Said El Mala

Germany talent and FC Koln striker Said El Mala has burst onto the scene as one of the most promising young attackers in European football. El Mala is seeing great success with newly promoted Koln, and El Mala has been front and centre for the wins. El Mala’s talents have quickly gone notice by top European clubs including Bayern Munich, but now another team has joined the race.

English giants Manchester City have reportedly join the race, according to [Christian Falk](https://x.com/cfbayern), which could mean bad news for the Bavarians. Time and time again, Bayern have seen their transfer targets chose other clubs as Bayern can rarely keep up with the financial power of the Premier League.

Manchester City is bad news for Bayern as they could hardly keep up with their financial power, or have a more difficult time justifying a large transfer. While El Mala is relatively still on the come up, there is still a good chance Bayern could come knocking and land the German on a decent price at the end of the season. With the amount of attacking options growing as Lennart Karl finds his form, is there a reason for Bayern to splash big on El Mala? Or should Bayern see this as an opportunity to land a potential generational German talent?

It was another wild weekend in the Bundesliga and one that saw the rich get richer (on points), while the teams struggling could only wish things were headed in a different direction.

We have a lot to talk about, so let’s get do it. This edition of the Bundesliga Rundown will include:
