The Golden State Warriors will take on the Memphis Grizzlies Monday night. The game will be played at 7:00 PM PT in San Francisco and can be watched on NBC Sports Bay Area.
Golden State suffered their first loss of the season on Friday night as the Portland Trail Blazers beat them, 139-119. Stephen Curry led the team with 35 points in 27 minutes, continuing his strong start to the year.
This was the second night of a back-to-back for Golden State, and while fatigue from the previous night’s overtime victory against the Denver Nuggets may have played a factor, head coach Steve Kerr didn’t want to use that as an excuse for the loss.
The Warriors will play another set of back-to-back games starting with tonight’s matchup against the Grizzlies. Veteran center Al Horford will rest the front end of the two-game stretch, forcing Golden State to lean on its frontcourt depth to handle Memphis big man and former Defensive Player of the Year, Jaren Jackson Jr.
Meanwhile, Jonathan Kuminga continues to impress after signing a new two-year, $48.5 million contract this offseason. The 23-year-old forward is averaging 15.7 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game—showing off a versatility that has made the Warriors even tougher to matchup against this season.
