Bryan Mbeumo scored twice against Brighton over the weekend. He is one of the highest-scoring midfielders in FPL.
Manchester United are really riding high at the moment. They won 4-2 against Brighton over the weekend, which was their third league win in a row under Ruben Amorim, leading many to believe that the United boss has finally worked things out at Old Trafford.
During the game, Matheus Cunha scored the first goal of the game, before Casemiro netted the second. Bryan Mbeumo then put United 3-0 up before a late scare from Brighton, who scored twice. However, Mbeumo finished the game off in the 97th minute, with what was his fourth league goal of the season.
Mbeumo joined for £65m, and it seems so far that he is really warranting the hefty price tag, as he has helped transform United’s attack. On a more personal level, Mbeumo has been one of the best midfielders in the Premier League this season.
Mbeumo ahead of Arsenal and Chelsea stars in FPL
Amid his excellent performances for Man United this season, Bryan Mbeumo finds himself as one of the highest-scoring players in FPL, especially among midfielders. He isn’t cheap, priced at £8.1m, but the 19.5% of Mbeumo owners in FPL will be delighted with his return so far.
Mbeumo is the second-highest-scoring midfielder in the game, with 51 total points. He is only behind Bournemouth’s Antoine Semenyo, who has scored 73 points over the course of the season so far.
Despite going under the radar, Mbeumo is ahead of some big names. The likes of Declan Rice at Arsenal, Moises Caicedo at Chelsea and Mohammed Kudus are just behind him in the rankings, earning 50, 48 and 44 points respectively. If Mbeumo continues to perform like he has been, his ownership percentage could skyrocket, especially in early December with United having back-to-back games against relegation-battling West Ham and Wolves.
Who are the other top-scoring Man United players in FPL
Mbeumo is the highest-scoring United player in the game so far this season, but there are plenty of Amorim’s squad breathing down the Cameroon international’s neck. Firstly, captain Bruno Fernandes is the second-highest-scoring United player, as he has 40 points so far this season.
After that, Casemiro has 33 points, which may come as a slight surprise for many FPL managers. Defender Matthijs De Ligt is fourth on 29 points, whereas summer signing Benjamin Sesko is fifth with 29 points.
It is a slight surprise to see Matheus Cunha so far down the list, as he has just 19 points, especially considering how brilliant an FPL asset he was last season whilst he was at Wolves. But, based on his previous two excellent performances, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Cunha boost the rankings, and his ownership percentages to increase much like Mbeumo. The Brazilian is currently owned by just 3.9% of FPL managers.
