Eagles chief of security Dom DiSandro brought injured Giants RB Cam Skattebo cheesesteaks…

The New York Giants didn’t just lose to the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 8; they lost one of the heartbeats of the team to what is now a season-ending injury.

Giants running back Cam Skattebo suffered a dislocated ankle on Sunday. The injury will cost the rookie the rest of his first season in the NFL.

It’s always bad to lose to a rival, but this injury was like throwing salt in the wound. However, on very rare occasions, your rivals may be looking out for you.

The Philadelphia Inquirer is reporting that Eagles chief of security Dom DiSandro visited Skattebo before his surgery on his injured ankle. Not only was it a visit, but DiSandro brought Skattebo some snacks to hold him over.

DiSandro delivered Skattebo pizza and cheesesteaks during his visit. DiSandro has become the most popular head of security in the NFL. Also, he’s the only one I actually know.

Skattebo quickly became one of the leaders of a Giants team that was ready to make the leap to being a contender this season. However, the team’s performance against the Eagles proved that the Giants may still be a little bit away from being a contender.

A season-ending injury is never easy. However, getting some cheesesteaks and pizza is always a win in my book. The Eagles and Giants may hate each other on the field. But off the field, it’s all pizza and cheesesteaks. That’s not a bad life.
