Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes faced body-shaming from local radio host Kevin Kietzman before this season kicked off, with the broadcaster calling him "fat" after holiday snapshots surfaced online. Meanwhile, Terry Bradshaw made an embarrassing gaffe when texting Chiefs head coach Andy Reid.
The Chiefs take on the Washington Commanders on Monday, with Kansas City sitting at 4-3 this season following their Super Bowl appearance last year. The Chiefs suffered a devastating 40-22 defeat to the Philadelphia Eagles, though Mahomes pledged to rebound from the setback.

Nevertheless, the Chiefs' campaign has been unpredictable, featuring multiple obstacles along the way. Although Kansas City seems to have discovered its groove after consecutive victories, Kietzman attacked Mahomes before the season started, following the Chiefs signal-caller's Fourth of July posts.

Mahomes was relaxing during the break and shared a shirtless snapshot with his spouse, Brittany Mahomes. Kietzman chose to blast the Chiefs' field general and mentioned his vow to elevate his game in 2025 after a crushing defeat.
Kietzman targeted Mahomes on his Kevin Kietzman Has Issues podcast and faced criticism from supporters across social media platforms.
"Vacation photos of Patrick Mahomes are popping up, and he's fat," Kietzman said.

"I'm going to say it, and I'm going to tell you the truth, he's an embarrassment. You're a $500 million quarterback, you've made all these comments this offseason saying we're going to do our talking on the field, we got our butts kicked in the Super Bowl, we're coming back with vengeance. Dude, you're fat."
The Chiefs saw their hopes of a historic three-peat crushed by the Eagles in February, with the final score only appearing competitive after Mahomes orchestrated two touchdown drives in the fourth quarter.
It marked a devastating moment in Mahomes' otherwise stellar career, leaving him heartbroken.
"There's no way around it. Anytime you lose a Super Bowl, it's the worst thing in the world," Mahomes said after the loss in New Orleans.

"It will stick with you the rest of your career."

Mahomes then added: "I mean these will be the two losses that will motivate me to be even better, for the rest of my career. Because you only get so few of these [Super Bowls], and you have to capitalise on them".
"It's going to hurt for a while, but how can you respond from it?" While Kietzman claimed that Mahomes hadn't bounced back appropriately, the Chiefs' signal-caller appeared visibly slimmer when he arrived for training camp this summer.
Mahomes has also displayed his mobility this season, racking up 250 rushing yards and four touchdowns across seven games. The quarterback has already matched his career-high of four regular-season rushing touchdowns and sits just 139 yards away from establishing a new personal record.
