The Washington Commanders play on the road against the Kansas City Chiefs for Week 8 of the regular season on Monday Night Football. For Washington to pull off the upset, their defensive line needs to outplay Kansas City’s banged-up offensive line. The Chiefs’ offensive line will not have either left tackle Josh Simmons or right guard Trey Smith for tonight’s game.
However, a Pro Bowl defender is banged up.

Daron Payne popped up on Week 8’s injury report with a toe injury despite playing 54% of defensive snaps the previous game. He sat out this week’s practice, leading the Commanders to officially rule the Pro Bowler questionable for Monday Night Football. The plan was for Payne to work out during pre-game warm-ups to ultimately determine his fate.

The Commanders released their inactive players list at 5:45 pm CT, ruling out seven players for Week 8. The good news is that Daron Payne was not among the players listed and is good to go against the Kansas City Chiefs. The defense will have its top interior defensive lineman available, which should give them the upper hand over the Chiefs’ offensive line.
