Ned Stark stated, "Winter is coming," and Dallas Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer confirmed changes are coming for his team after the embarrassing 44-24 loss to the Denver Broncos.
The defense was yet again a horror show as Matt Eberflus' unit continues to be a "get right" game for nearly every offense they face. The offense wasn't its usual high-octane self, and combining those two elements, it is a perfect storm for a beatdown.
The offense has got some grace for its performances this season, but the defense? No chance, and speaking to the media, Schottenheimer was rather straight to the point when asked about what sort of adjustments would be made this week ahead of facing the Arizona Cardinals.
"A lot of things, I mean quite honestly, a lot of things,” Schottenheimer said. "You can't come off a game like yesterday and not expect there to be changes. It was clearly our most incomplete game that we've played as a football team. Really, all three phases.”

Can Cowboys fix defensive issues?
One would hope so, but eight weeks in, and we are yet to see any of the "changes" that have already been mentioned, help out in any form, aside from the little uptick in performance against the Washington Commanders.
With the trade deadline looming, some want the Cowboys to go after a player or two to help raise the floor of the unit. But with a host of injuries, particularly in the secondary, coupled with the lack of pass rush and ability to consistently turn the ball over, Dallas is more than one move away from fixing this mess.
Eberflus won't be fired mid-season, that isn't Jerry Jones' style, so he has a runway to get things trending in the right direction, because make no mistake, "winter" is coming for the Cowboys, and Eberflus can't call on The Stark's to get him out of this situation.
