CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - One Panthers player appeared to have started a scuffle with a Buffalo Bills lineman immediately after Carolina’s blowout loss on Sunday.
In video shared by ESPN reporter Kimberley A. Martin, Panthers defensive lineman A’Shawn Robinson was seen going up to Bills offensive lineman Dion Dawkins before Robinson yanked his own helmet off and got in Dawkins’ face.
Other players tried to pull the two apart, but Robinson appeared to shove Dawkins twice before he was eventually pulled away by his own teammates.
Robinson’s frustration boiled over after the Panthers lost 40-9, and gave up a whopping 245 yards rushing. Buffalo running back James Cook accounted for 216 of those rushing yards, which was the most Carolina has ever given up to a single player.
Carolina’s Derrick Brown was the one who pulled Robinson away from Dawkins, and was asked about players’ frustration.
“No man is just going to sit there and take an a**-whooping good,” Brown said in the locker room. “You know what I’m saying? It is what it is on that end, right? Just got to be able to limit that, to avert that, to play good ball.”

Prior to playing the Bills, the Panthers were on a three-game win streak, and had done a good job defending the run. They also had been running the ball well themselves, and the offense appeared to be trending in the right direction with quarterback Bryce Young.
Young missed the Buffalo game, though, due to an ankle injury he sustained a week earlier in New York. Veteran backup Andy Dalton started in Young’s place, and the results were disastrous.
Dalton turned the ball over three times, took seven sacks -- one that likely cost Carolina at least three points right before halftime -- and failed to ever get much of a rhythm going.
Panthers head coach Dave Canales expressed hope that Young would be back for this coming Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers, who currently sit atop the NFC standings. If Young is unable to go, Canales suggested Dalton would start again.
Following the drubbing against Buffalo, FanDuel had the Panthers listed as 12.5-point underdogs to the Packers.
