Packers’ Micah Parsons has bold message for Jordan Love after Outlasting Aaron Rodgers

Micah Parsons saved some of his best moments for the biggest plays of the Packers‘ 35-25 victory over Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday night.

In the fourth quarter, Parsons finally logged a sack of the former MVP quarterbac, and very nearly stripped the ball from behind on a pressure that turned into a crucial incompletion in a big spot of a drive that stalled out for Rodgers and the Steelers.

However, it was Parsons’ current quarterback, budding Packers star Jordan Love, who garnered significant praise from the All-Pro edge rusher afterwards.

While all eyes were on Jordan Love against Rodgers on Sunday night, it really was Parsons, linebacker Edgerrin Cooper, and tight end Tucker Kraft who more significantly swung the outcome in Green Bay’s blowout win.

However, Love was downright masterful, at one point completing 21 consecutive passes in a performance that all but solidified that the Packers made the right move to turn the page from Rodgers to their former first-round draft choice, prior to the 2023 season.

Parsons didn’t mince words, or hold back, on how he felt about Love and what his first impressions were even before being traded by the Dallas Cowboys to Green Bay, knowing who would be behind center.

“He’s showed he’s the successor,” Packers defensive end Micah Parsons told reporters following Sunday’s win. “He’s the up-and-coming. Like J-Love, talking about when I was coming here, I was like, ‘I know they’ve got a quarterback, I know I’ve got a quarterback.’ I’m just so proud of him, everything he’s been through, how he’s developed as a player, how he’s developed as a person, and he’s just playing some really good football right now.”

Love put on a clinic against the Steelers, passing for a season-high 360 yards with three touchdowns and a 134.2 passer rating.

Parsons may be the piece that ultimately puts the Packers over the top and into a Super Bowl, but it is Love who gives Green Bay the opportunity to consistently be in the mix for the Lombardi, moving forward.
