NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) - For the second time since September, the Tennessee Titans traded away a defensive starter. First, it was cornerback Jarvis Brownlee to the Jets. Now, the team ships Roger McCreary to the Rams.
With the Titans just 1-7 this season, we could see more of their players on the move since the NFL trade deadline is just over 1 week away.
Interim Head Coach Mike McCoy maintains that the focus for his team is to win. But that goal is made more difficult if and when he keeps losing starting players off his roster. It’s a position he inherited when he was elevated into this role after Brian Callahan was fired.
“These are all discussions I knew would eventually come up down the road, but as the head coach, I understand the business and the role that I’m in and what I need to do to help this team win. So, there’s always, regardless of when it is, there’s going to be tough discussions you’re going to have in organizations, whether it’s the offseason program, training camp, or through the season. That’s all part of the business.”

Titans edge rusher Dre’Mont Jones is currently playing on a one-year contract with the team. If the Titans do move on from other players, there’s a good chance those guys will have expiring contracts.
Jones says he’s not fazed by any ambiguity associated with his situation.
“As long as I’m in an NFL locker room and I can provide some service, I don’t have anything to worry about,” said Jones.
“I’ll let that part of that side take care of itself. Right now, my focus is on living and breathing being a Tennessee Titan.”
The Titans will host the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday @ 12 p.m. at Nissan Stadium.
