Why Terry McLaurin isn't playing 4th quarter for Commanders vs. Chiefs with injury news

Terry McLaurin made two of the best catches of the week on Monday Night Football.

The Washington Commanders' star wide receiver first caught a touchdown by waiting on his tip toes on the right sideline of the end zone when Marcus Mariota lobbed a pass his way. He kept the feet in and got the TD.

Then, Mariota lofted a pass down the left sideline as McLaurin ran a go route, and he made a full extension diving catch, just landing inbounds while holding onto the football.

But those were the highlights before the bad news.

In the fourth quarter, McLaurin was on the sideline.

Why isn't Terry McLaurin playing?

Terry McLaurin wasn't in at all midway through the fourth quarter when the Commanders had the ball trailing 28-7.

He was shown on the sideline in his helmet.

ESPN sideline reporter Lisa Salters shared on the broadcast that McLaurin had trainers examining his quadriceps.

McLaurin missed the Commanders' last four games with a quad injury, so that's not a great sign.

The fact that McLaurin still had his helmet likely means he wasn't ruled out and there was just some caution going on with the game likely out of hand.

It'll be worth watching Washington's injury report this week anyway just to see how Terry is doing.
