Anthony Nelson Nominated For “Angry Runs”
October 28th, 2025
Has love for “Nelly.”
You know it, you love it: It’s Kyle Brandt’s weekly “Angry Runs” segment.
For those unaware, Brandt has a weekly feature on the show he co-hosts, “Good Morning Football,” seen weekday mornings on NFL Network. The feature is “Angry Runs.”
Brandt takes the most physical, gnarly runs and highlights the top three each week. The winner gets a shirt and a scepter.
The feature was spawned when Brandt used to romanticize Mike Alstott’s running highlights. Past winners for the Bucs have been Rachaad White and Baker Mayfield.
So of all people to choose from for Brandt this past week, he chose a defensive player. A Bucs defensive player.
Brandt nominated Anthony Nelson, who had one of the greatest Bucs games for a defensive player in recent memory as the Bucs bodyslammed the slimy Saints on Sunday. Nelson damn near beat the slimy Saints all by himself.
But Brandt didn’t nominate Nelson for being a hero so much on defense. Brandt loved how Nelson, after he tipped a Spencer Rattler pass to himself on the slimy Saints-4, just brushed Rattler aside as if he was a handsy panhandler prowling the French Quarter late on a Friday night.
To Joe, Nelson looked like he went up for a rebound and boxed out Rattler as he came down with the ball.
Joe could watch Nelson’s play on a loop all night.
Unfortunately, Nelson did not win the scepter.
