All the latest injury news surrounding Tottenham and Everton ahead of their Carabao Cup meeting.
Newcastle come into this one after beating Fulham at home, and they will be looking to improve on a disappointing start. The Magpies are the holders of this competition, of course. Here we round up the latest injury news surrounding both teams heading into this one.
Tino Livramento - Out
Livramento will be out until late November. Howe has said: “Tino is out of the brace, and every time I speak to him, he seems positive about his return. There are no massive changes in the timescale he was given, but he is going about his recovery well.”
Lewis Hall - Out
Hall will be out for another week or so. Howe said recently: “His second scan was good news. We think he will be back during this period of games before the next Int' break. We don't know exactly when that will be, but we expect him to, if he doesn't suffer any ill effects from anything he is doing. So, good news!”
Yoane Wissa - Out
Wissa is likely to return in the next couple of weeks, but this will be too soon for him. Howe said before the weekend: “He will need almost a pre-season, and the schedule is six weeks. I'm not saying he won't play for six weeks, but to get to his very best level, it will probably take that time. He has been to see a specialist, that was a routine appointment. He is on track, he is doing well, and now we can push him a little bit harder.”
Sven Botman - Doubt
Botman had a head injury over the weekend, but Howe has said: “I think he's OK, yes. There was no concussion. It was a cut, but a very good decision from the on-field physio to recommend I take him off.”
Harrison Ashby - Out
Ashby remains out, with Howe saying recently: “Unfortunately, at the moment Harrison is injured, and he has been injured for a period of time with a thigh injury, so we are waiting for him to be fit again.” Ashby has a hamstring issue.
Cristian Romero - Out
Romero is likely to be out until the weekend. Frank said before last weekend: “Cuti was just out running on the grass with the performance guys. So, positive, progressing, but no time frame. I don't expect it to be a longer one.” It’s very unlikely he will be rushed back for this one.
Destiny Udogie - Out
Udogie is out for a week or so. Frank has said: “Destiny is not on the grass yet, but still progressing, again, not a longer one.”
Dejan Kulusevski - Out
Kulusevsk is is going to remain out until late November. Frank said last month: “He's a key, key player for us. Instead of putting an exact month on [his return]. I just want him back as quick as possible. I know the medical team and Dejan are working very hard on that... It's not tomorrow, hopefully not too far away.”
Dominic Solanke - Out
Frank said last week: “Dom, positive, he's taking steps in the right direction and was on the grass on his own today. So, he's progressing forward.”
Ben Davies - Out
Davies picked up a muscular injury during the international window and will remain out here, and for a few weeks.
Radu Dragusin - Out
It looks like Dragusin will be back in late October. Frank said last week in a fresh update: “He's progressing well. He's been on the grass for three weeks and is progressing as well as it should. We all know coming back from an ACL is a long one - he's on track - but it will be a few weeks before he's able to be involved.”
Yves Bissouma - Out
Bissouma is out for a few weeks with an ankle injury he picked up on international duty. Frank explained: “Biss, unfortunately, had a situation with the national team, I think everyone saw that, so he got a ligament injury to his ankle that will keep him out for weeks.”
Kota Takai - Out
Takai is expected to return within the next couple of weeks from a troubling ankle issue. He will need to build up his fitness.
Maddison ruptured his ACL during a pre-season clash and will much of the season.
