Liverpool's official charity, the LFC Foundation, is set to benefit from a £250,000 fund that has been raised for a number of causes across the North West.
The newly-formed Legacie Foundation, from property developers Legacie, recently held a major fundraising event which brought in a quarter of a million pounds that will now be used to help a number of organisations across the region, including the LFC Foundation.
Alder Hey Children's Charity is another who will see a boost from the event, which was hosted by former Cold Feet and the Fast Show actor John Thomson and saw a performance from The Lightning Seeds. Liverpool's all-time leading marksman, Ian Rush, was in attendance alongside Matt Parish, the Foundation's chief executive.
John Morley, CEO of Liverpool-based Legacie, said: "Legacie has always committed to supporting those on our doorstep in need long before launching Legacie Foundation. The interest and funds generated by last night's event show that this is just the beginning of the Legacie Foundation.
"I'm excited to see this grow going forward so we can continue to help more people across the north west. It is deeply important to us as a business to give back to the communities in which we work."
“I’m really proud that we’ve been able to support amazing organisations like LFC Foundation, Alder Hey Children’s Charity and The Inclusive Hub. The money raised by Legacie and our fantastic partners is going to make a huge difference to people right across our communities."
Legacie, who have been a long-term supporter of Football For Change - the social mobility initiative chaired by Reds legend Jamie Carragher - will once more be on board when FFC host their annual gala next month in Manchester.
It was announced last month that FFC will return for their latest event, with pop icon Boy George headlining and Ella Henderson also performing.
"When you see icons like Boy George and Ella Henderson joining us, along with so many footballers and supporters, it shows how far the annual Football For Change gala has come," Carragher said.
"This is one night in the annual calendar that footballers, business and celebrities come together to change young lives.
"This is about giving young people who've had tough starts in life the chance to build better futures. This gala is not just a night to celebrate what we’ve achieved - but to go further and do even more.”
Last year, a handful of Liverpool-related prizes were auctioned off, with a meet-and-greet with the squad at the club's AXA Training Centre, that included a private breakfast for three with head coach Arne Slot, fetching £5,000.
Former Reds stars Harvey Elliott and Trent Alexander-Arnold also donated prizes for auction at an event held at the city's Titanic Hotel.
Since its inception in 2021, Football For Change, in partnership with the Community Foundation for Lancashire and Merseyside, has raised well over £1m.
