49ers Week 8 rookie report: The kids contribute to defensive meltdown vs. Texans (paywall)
“Where the 49ers were healthiest, at safety, rookie Marques Sigle did not play a single defensive snap for the first time this season after he started the team’s first seven games. A fully healthy Malik Mustapha took every rep alongside Ji’Ayir Brown. Mustapha and Sigle had split playing time in the previous two games as Mustapha ramped up in his return from a major knee injury.”
Running back Christian McCaffrey earned the game’s best pass-blocking grade (84.1).
The lowest-graded offensive lineman was left guard Nick Zakelj, who played 19 offensive snaps and earned a 46.9 offensive grade. Center Matt Hennessy’s 42.0 run-blocking grade was the lowest of the game among offensive linemen, while Zakelj’s 26.5 pass-blocking grade was the lowest overall.“
