Week eight in the NFL had some great games with incredibly exciting finishes. There were also some games that weren’t as competitive due to poor performances and sloppy play. Here is the report card grade for every NFC team that played Sunday in week eight, based on how they played, combined with what their expectations were and who their opponents were.

The Cowboys defense continued its struggles, and their injuries in the secondary only made matters worse. The offense did what they could on the road in Denver, but they had to play catch-up the entire game and just couldn’t keep up with the Broncos, who scored 44 points against them. Javonte Williams scored two touchdowns against his former team.

Philadelphia Eagles: A-

The Eagles offense really clicked for a second straight week, and they did it without A.J. Brown in the lineup. Jalen Hurts only threw for 179 yards, but he did throw four touchdown passes. They rushed for over 250 yards as a team, including 150 from Saquon Barkley before he left the game with an injury.

New York Giants: C

The Giants looked okay early on, but they didn’t get any production from their wide receivers, and their offensive line didn’t protect well for Jaxson Dart. Dart had a passing touchdown and a rushing touchdown, but once Cam Skattebo left with his injury, the offense went into a funk.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: A

They weren’t really tested all that much by the last-place Saints, but they took care of business on the road and came away with a convincing victory. The defense allowed just 3 points, and the offense did what they needed to despite the leading rusher having just 42 yards and the leading receiver having 43.

New Orleans Saints: D

They only managed to score three points against the Bucs defense, but their defense did play reasonably well, only allowing 23 points to Baker Mayfield and company. Both Spencer Rattler and Tyler Shough threw for over 100 yards and one interception. Kamara was the teams leading rusher with just 21 yards.

Carolina Panthers: F

The Panthers were completely manhandled by the Bills in this game. They turned the ball over three times and only scored 9 points. Tet McMillan was the long bright spot offensively, catching 7 passes for 99 yards. The defense was torched, allowing 40 points and over 200 rushing yards to James Cook.

Atlanta Falcons D

Kirk Cousins was not good while filling in for Michael Penix Jr., and Bijan Robinson only had 25 yards on the ground. They were facing the Dolphins, who came into the week as one of the worst defenses in the league and simply could not get the offense going. The defense was no better, allowing Tua to throw for four touchdowns against them.
