Sometimes, life can be bigger than a rivalry on the field.
During the Philadelphia Eagles' 38-20 win over the New York Giants, New York's star rookie running back Cam Skattebo was getting tackled by Eagles linebacker Zack Baun, who was trying to make a play for the ball as well, and ended up rolling up on Skattebo's ankle. It was a gruesome injury that ended up getting the young running back carted off the field.
From the moment Skattebo was on the cart, Philadelphia felt a responsibility to take care of him. It was the crowd at Lincoln Financial Field giving him a standing ovation as Skattebo gave fans the thumbs-up.
What happened next at the hospital showed the true colors of the city and the Eagles as an organization.
Eagles sending their best to Skattebo in the most Philly way
Skattebo stayed at Penn Presbyterian in Philadelphia overnight as he got surgery on his ankle. During his stay, he got a visit from one of the most popular figures on the Eagles: head of security Dom DiSandro, aka "Big Dom."
During DiSandro's visit with Skattebo, he delivered him all the best stuff from Philadelphia. Those included pizza and cheesesteaks, so he ate like everyone in Philly does.

Many players around the NFL have given their thoughts and prayers to Skattebo on his long road to recovery. After the Eagles-Giants game, former Giant and current Eagles star Saquon Barkley, who was coming off a season-best 150 yards rushing, spoke with the media as he sent his best to Skattebo by reassuring him that he is “in great hands” with the Giants' medical staff.
