The Atlanta Falcons suffered a crushing 24-point defeat to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, dropping to 3-4 and raising serious concerns about their playoff aspirations.
Atlanta’s second straight loss exposed glaring weaknesses on both sides of the ball against a Dolphins team that entered the game with just one win.
The defeat leaves the Falcons with their postseason window closing rapidly as questions mount about the entire operation.
Analyst John Middlekauff delivered a harsh assessment of the Falcons’ current state during a recent segment of ‘3 & Out,’ holding nothing back in his criticism of the organization’s direction.
“Everything they have done has been a complete disaster. I would say Atlanta and everyone involved in that situation, from the GM to the coaching staff, is in major, major trouble,” Middlekauff said.

He emphasized that a team paying Kirk Cousins $27.5 million should at least be competitive, yet Atlanta was thoroughly dominated.
Middlekauff pointed to systemic problems spanning from team president Rich McKay and general manager Terry Fontenot to head coach Raheem Morris.
The organization has invested heavily in questionable coaching decisions and a quarterback contract that could rank among the league’s worst.
While Middlekauff likes rookie Michael Penix Jr., he noted that few teams shared Atlanta’s conviction that the quarterback was a top-10 selection.
The Dolphins completely overwhelmed the Falcons, outgaining them by 125 yards in a performance that laid bare Atlanta’s deficiencies.
The Falcons managed just 213 total yards, with 65 coming in garbage time after falling behind by 31 points with under nine minutes remaining.
The defense struggled to generate stops when needed, allowing Miami to control the tempo throughout.
Atlanta now faces a brutal two-game road swing against surging AFC opponents.
The Falcons travel to Foxborough next Sunday to meet the New England Patriots, who have won five consecutive games, before heading overseas to Germany to face the AFC-leading Indianapolis Colts.
